How To Play Baseball Classics Baseball Game

It’s time to “Play ball!”. Baseball Classics simplifies tabletop baseball game play. That’s because our player cards and charts are the easiest ones to read. One look at a Baseball Classics player card and it’s easy to see how to play our game. Our “traffic highlighting” on every player card makes it quicker to make your line up for any team and enhances faster play. No other baseball game in the market offers an easier player card.

Since baseball fans come in all ages from youth to adult, we have designed Baseball Classics with play for different levels of baseball knowledge. There are 3 levels of play to meet the needs of baseball fans across generations; Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced. Use our same easy to read player cards for all levels. You won’t need different player cards or charts. From youth baseball to expert baseball fan, Baseball Classics is for everyone.

Basic Play follows standard baseball rules and includes the most basic plays such as double plays and sacrifice fly outs. Little League players are familiar with this play.

Intermediate Play adapts Basic play level and includes bunting, base stealing, and base running. Casual baseball fans are familiar with this play.

Advanced Play adapts Basic and Intermediate play levels and includes fielding, hit & run, as well as virtually anything that can happen in a Major League Baseball Game. Plays such as pitch outs, wild pitches, rain delays or rain outs, arguing with the umpires, injuries, and more are incorporated in this level. Expert baseball fans are familiar with this play.

A nine inning game is typically played in 10-15 minutes. Baseball Classics player cards are the size of a standard playing card making it a convenient sized game to play at home or travel with. We’ll use the Lou Gehrig and Roger Clemens player cards to demonstrate how to play using either the Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced levels in Baseball Classics. green dice

Baseball Classics is played with 3 dice; 1 white binary die (rolls either a 0 or 1) and 2 color six-sided dice.



	1. Roll all 3 dice If the white die is 0, refer to the Pitcher’s card OR if the white die is 1, refer to the Batter’s card. Add the two color dice and look at “Result” column for the outcome of the at bat. Let’s say the roll is white die 0, color dice 7 (totaled together). 2. Since the white die is a 0, refer to Clemens’ card and look up a Roll of 7 in the Result column. The result is a Strikeout for Gehrig.

1 out, runner on 2nd base with a Run rating of and Gehrig at bat vs. Clemens.

1. Roll all 3 dice
   Let’s say the roll is white die 1, color dice 8.
2. Since the white die is a 1, refer to
   Gehrig’s card and look up a Roll of 8 in the
   Result column. The result is a Single. Baseball Classics Run Chart
3. The runner on 2nd base
   advances to 3rd and can
   be sent home. To try
   to advance that
   runner home, roll the 2
   six-sided dice. Let’s say
   the roll is a 5.
4. Refer to the Run Chart to
   find the result. The
   runner is safe at home.





		Runner on 1st base with a Steal rating of and Gehrig at bat against Clemens. Virtually anything that can happen in a Major League Baseball Game can happen in the Baseball Classics Advanced level of play. The Baseball Classics Play Action Simulator incorporates events as listed in the Legend.1. Roll all 3 dice Let’s say the roll is white die 1, color dice 4. 2. First refer to the Play Action Simulator Chart. The result is a Wild Pitch. 3. The runner on 1st base advances to 2nd. Roll all 3 dice again, let’s say the roll is white die 0, color dice 7. The result is Batter swings away. 4. Roll all 3 dice again and this time refer to the batter and pitcher cards. Let’s say the roll is white die 0, color dice 12. The result is double. The runner on 2nd scores and Gehrig reaches with a double. Note - You can play with fielding as well to see if each play is fielded cleanly or an error occurred.
